Welding
At Texas Sheet Metal Services, we are experienced fabricators and seasoned welders. While chimney caps cover the flue opening, chase covers fit over the top of the chimney to ensure more protection for your home. All commercial style gutters and downspouts are fabricated in house with numerous sizes, thickness, and color profiles to choose from to satisfy the most intricate design. Roof Flashings
We fabricate and install all roof flashings. Roof flashings are a crucial part of a roof and one of the most important things to replace when doing a roof replacement. Because it is used to help direct water away from certain areas on your roof, it is important that flashings are properly installed so that problem areas like chimneys, walls, or open valleys remain leak-free for the life of the flashing material. We manufacture a wide variety of roof flashings for roofing companies and general contractors.
A typical shingle residential roof has 5 different styles of flashings, such as drip edge, wall flashings, step flashings, head wall flashings, and counter flashings. Most suppliers carry a thin, 28 gauge metal flashing but we recommend going with a 24 gauge metal flashing. Using a heavier gauge material allows the material to last longer and reduces the ability to flex or show in what’s called the “oil can” effect.
Customers tend to be less satisfied with thinner material because it tends to bend and look wavy. Commercial roof flashings are a very important part of installing a new low slope roof such as TPO or modified bitumen. Each roof system has specific flashings that are needed when working on new construction or installing a reroof.
At Texas Sheet Metal Services, we supply and fabricate TPO-coated metal into an edging/drip edge material for all TPO roofing applications. This application is the best option to adhere the TPO roof to the perimeter so you can guarantee positive water drainage from your roof.
